Oily Skin Tips:The oily skin type is generally slower to show fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. The negative effects can be more frequent breakouts, large pores and a greasy appearance. Sebaceous glands are unevenly distributed, being more in numbers around the scalp, on the forehead, along the nose and on the chin, and lesser on cheeks and neck, and around the eyes. Resulting in patchy skin. The following steps can minimize the negative effects caused by excessive oil production: 1) Wash your face two or
three times daily with soap and water. 2) Use lukewarm rather than hot water. Hot water will wash skin of needed moisture. 3) Try a mild cleanser that cleanses without drying. 4) After washing face rinse thoroughly and then dab astringent or toner on the oily areas of skin. The astringent can be used throughout the day to help control the excess oil. 5) Apply water-based noncomedogenic cosmetics this will ensure that they're oil-free and thus will not clog pores. 6) Use cream containing retenoids, this reduces size of oil glands and thus decreases oil production. 7) Remove your makeup before going to bed, and avoid cold creams and lotions, which may leave an oily film on skin. 8) Avoid diet containing chocolates, cheese, and oily or fried things. 9) Take Vitamin B regularly. It keeps skin healthy. 10) Avoid stress, as stress leads to increase oil production. 11) Exfoliate regularly. It is important to distinguish between oil on the surface of the skin, where it is meant to be and can easily be removed with careful cleansing, and oil trapped within the sebaceous duct, which can be helped by regular exfoliation. If excessive oil can be controlled, skin will have a light sheen of oil making face glow. Exfoliation strips the outer layer of epidermis and reduces oil production. But exfoliation should not be done more than tow times in a week. Rub face with thin pieces of Apple, it will control shine. Face Packs for oily Skin: 1) Take 1/3-cup cocoa, three teaspoons of heavy cream, 1/3-cup ripe papaya, 1/4-cup honey and three teaspoons of oatmeal powder. Blend well. Apply on face and leave it for 10 minutes. Then wash face with warm water. 2) Take handful of grapes, juice of one lemon and white of an egg and mix well. Apply and l eave it for 20 minutes on face. Rinse with lukewarm water. Lemon is natural cleanser, grapes soften skin and egg whites will tighten skin. IA tingling sensation may be felt. But do not get alarmed, it means face pack is working.
